This Party Never Stops is a party that you don’t want an invite to. Jumpstart is almost listenable before they body slam any credibility by trying some balladry with Lifetime. Dear me, three minutes never were so long. “A lifetime in a minute/ Blink your eyes and you will miss it.” Well no… there are two more minutes left. Rapid eye movement becomes the least of your worries.
I Wanna Dance With Somebody does the unthinkable. It makes a forgetful song memorable and for good reason. In Good Friends (With Bad Benefits), they sing “we’ve got an attitude that makes you sick”. This is visionary and insightful. That there are multiple songwriters plying their limited skills is tear inducing. If this was a well intentioned sly stab at pop music this could work. Except These Kids are really trying. Right about now, you wish you could rewind your life a little and pretend this never pressed the play button. Don’t Sweat It has the ability to destroy ones faith in music and Let’s Ride sees them off into the sunset. Bolt the door and never let them back in.
