Ikigai presents Greenhouse will transform Fairfield Amphitheatre into a house and techno haven this April.
The event represents Ikigai’s first venture into an outdoor setting, with the collective bringing French DJ duo International Mac and Tau Car to Melbourne as part of their debut Australian tour. The landmark occasion has been over a year in the planning, with organisers having first witnessed the pair at Dimensions Festival 2024.
Greenhouse will provide Melbourne audiences with an opportunity to experience the Europeans’ funk-laden house and techno in a stunning natural setting.

The event lineup also features local live electronic specialist Alex Albrecht, co-founder of respected label Analogue Attic, known for combining punchy drums and dreamy synths with original field recordings.
Two Melbourne DJ pairings round out the bill, with Hannah D and Nat Salih performing their first-ever back-to-back set, while Ikigai residents Kithers and Krit open proceedings at the iconic venue.
The historic Fairfield Amphitheatre, with its distinctive cobblestone steps surrounded by parkland, provides a natural backdrop perfectly aligned with Ikigai’s musical aesthetic, which spans deep house and tech house sounds.
Ikigai has collaborated with event organisers from New South Wales and South Australia to facilitate International Mac and Tau Car’s wider Australian tour, with the pair having previously been featured on The Mudd Show.
The organisers have acknowledged the traditional owners of the land, offering free tickets to First Nations people who wish to attend.
Tickets are priced at $40 with the seven-hour event running from 2pm until 9pm, spanning afternoon into evening in the outdoor setting.
