London's beloved dance festival GALA celebrates a decade with Melbourne stop on their 10 year world tour, thanks to a Crown Ruler partnership
London’s GALA Festival is bringing its decade celebration to Melbourne this December.
Ten Years of GALA in Melbourne represents one stop on a globe-trotting tour spanning ten international cities that have influenced the festival’s distinctive sound over its lifetime. The Melbourne edition is being presented by local promoters Crown Ruler, known for their discerning programming of soulful electronic music.
GALA Festival has grown from its roots in London’s Peckham Rye Park to become a cornerstone of the UK electronic music landscape, with its expansion to international territories marking a significant milestone.

While the lineup remains under wraps, organisers have promised festival favourites that attendees will have absolutely no trouble recognising, suggesting established GALA alumni may feature prominently.
The announcement comes as part of GALA’s ambitious global tour strategy, with the festival planning to visit ten cities that have influenced GALA’s roots-driven sound, taking residence on dancefloors that inspire them.
GALA Festival has built its reputation on warm, organic and soulful dance music sounds, celebrating both pioneering figures and contemporary artists pushing these sounds forward.
Beyond its musical curation, GALA positions itself as heavily invested in making a positive impact within its community as well as in the wider contexts of nightlife and electronic music, with commitments to diversity, transparency and environmental sustainability.
The Melbourne event will run for eight hours, offering local electronic music enthusiasts a taste of the festival experience that has made GALA a beloved fixture in London. Other international stops on the tour include New York and Chicago, with further destinations yet to be announced.
The main GALA Festival will take place in its traditional home of Peckham Rye Park from 23-25 May 2025, with the international celebrations extending throughout the year. The Melbourne edition being positioned in December suggests it might be one of the final stops on this anniversary tour.
