The music industry mentoring program you need to know about

The program, which seeks to nurture and mentor those who work within Victoria’s live music scene, everyone from independent promoters, to venue bookers and managers.

Successful applicants will be provided with a huge variety of specialised training and opportunities, including one-on-one coaching, skill building workshops, and invaluable networking within the industry.

The program continues with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of specially tailored, closed-door events at Melbourne’s annual industry conference, Face the Music, before concluding at The Age Music Victoria Awards.

Developed with a flexible approach, as to cater to the specific needs of the chosen applicants, the program also serves the broader goal of establishing what exactly it is that the music industry needs.

“Identifying these trends enables us to determine exactly what the greater industry needs. It also means that we can really tailor the program to our participants and look after them on an individual level,” Project Manager Sarah Deborre says.

“But beyond the coaching, it’s going to be a great opportunity for Music Victoria to link up every participant in the program and create a solid network of regional, outer-suburban and metro venues tied in with independent promoters – this in itself will be such a massive positive aspect of the program.”
