The Maple Trail is the solo project of Sydney’s Aidan Roberts, whose lilting voice and sunny folk sounds play like a modern reworking of Cat Stevens or Simon and Garfunkel. With Beirut-style brass inflections, subtle interplay of acoustic guitars and clear, memorable images, The Dinosaur Hunters is the work of a very mature talent. The Maple Trail’s third album, Cable Mountain Warning, comes out in February.
