Synthwave duo Juno channel Kylie Minogue in their new single, ‘Sleepwalker’

Juno have hit the ground running with their debut single.

Sydney synthwave duo Juno released their debut single, ‘Sleepwalker’ today. Written, recorded and produced in their home studio, the track explores the reality of living with mental illness.

Reflecting the state of flux that comes with suffering from bipolar disorder and suicidal thoughts, ‘Sleepwalker’ pits complex themes and vulnerable lyrics against a danceable rhythm.

Taking inspiration from Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, the melody is a swelling concoction of synth and layered vocal effects which flow together seamlessly.

Despite its dark and confronting undertones, ‘Sleepwalker’ is almost anthemic – it greets its listeners with open arms and stands hand in hand with anyone who has suffered from mental illness.

If you’re a fan of Tame Impala, Winston Surfshirt and Lime Cordiale, chances are Juno will be right up your alley.

Listen to ‘Sleepwalker’ below.
