Urban mega-hit machine Akron and pop’n’b princess Ciara join the well and truly jammin’ Summerbeatz 2010 line-up… But no Akron for Melbourne.
Summerbeatz already international superstar laden line-up was bolstered with the announcment of Akron and Ciara. However, Melbourne fans will not get to see Akron because he has alledgedly been banned from the venue for the poor handling of a crowd melee at Hi-Sense Arena on his last tour. Although, the official line from Rod Laver is that he has been added to late to the line-up although Ciara’s fine.
Summerbeatz Promoter Dwayne Cross released the following statement in regards to Akron’s omission from the Melbourne show:
“It’s with great regret that we announce that Akon will not be performing in Melbourne on the Summerbeatz 2010 Tour. This is due to restrictions put on us by the Melbourne venue Rod Laver Arena. We have toured Akon in Australia many times before and we are extremely disappointed that Melbourne misses out on seeing such an amazing and popular performer, however, this situation is completely out of our hands. We look forward to Akon performing in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.”
Ciara will be appearing alongside Travie McCoy, Nino Brown, Soulja Boy, Jay Sean, Flo Rida and Aussies Stan Walker and Nino Brown.
