Well, well, with another Melbourne winter (nearly) in the rear-view mirror, Revs is helping warm us up for springtime with an incredible array of September slots.
August saw the Revs Bandroom gather significant momentum and September is showing no signs of slowing down the frenzy. So whether you’re after a head-spinning night of wicked techno like those provided by the Winter Series, or you just want to see your favourite band light up the Bandroom, Revs has never been more capable of rocking your socks off.

Hippopotamus Rex 20 year anniversary
- Friday September 6
- Featuring Dialectrix, Traz & Crave One, Dyl Thomas and more
Hippopotamus Rex is celebrating 20 years on the air with PBSFM, what a time to be at Revs! Featured will be a personally curated selection of the finest vibe-setters in Melbourne, with an array of Hippopotamus Rex’s favourite MCs and DJs poised to raise anniversary celebrations to new heights. They’ll be tackling the Bandroom from 8;30pm with free entry before 10pm.
Volt Jolt

Okay if you hadn’t guessed from the super-electrifying gig poster, punk rock 4-piece Volt Jolt are set to inject a jolt of volts to Revs’ Bandroom on September 7. Fresh off the momentum from their latest EP Outta My Head, these Ballarat based rockers are promising a night of madness. Bolstered by some incredible support acts and the most-electric band name since ACDC, Volt Jolt are ready to spark you Saturday night. Your tickets await.
Miles Away

Self-proclaimed melodic punks Miles Away are trekking across the Nullarbor to bless our eastern ears with some Perth-rock. Perth have been killing the game lately, providing gig-goers with constant nights of incredible acts and artists. They’re bringing along with them city-mates The Chain, as well as Newcastle legends Feel The Pain and hardcore specialists Dizdain. It’s a truly continental affair and we can’t wait. Australian DMC DJ Championships
- Saturday September 14
- Featuring a performance from three-time world champion JFB
The DMC World DJ Championships returns for 2024, introducing the new Open Format category, where club DJs can use any equipment to impress with a 12-minute genre-mixing set. Heats will take place across Australia into September, but the best of the best will all be competing at Revs on September 14 for the Australian championships, with the winners advancing to the World Finals in Paris. The classic 6-minute Turntablist category continues, with three-time World Champ JFB (UK) headlining and judging both categories. Max Best, last year’s Australian champion, will defend his title, facing off against new and seasoned DJs alike. More ticket info here.
Bag Raiders

Just like real Melbourne winters, Winter Series is stubbornly pushing on through spring. Only this time we’re happy! Australian dance powerhouses Bag Raiders are taking on Revs on September 15, and our excitement cannot be overstated. Bag Raiders’ impact on Australia’s electronic music scene has been thrilling. Their smash hit Shooting Stars has over four billion streams across all platforms – that’s not even creative hyperbole. If you don’t think you’ve heard it, you have. This’ll be a huge one, so pretty please grab your tickets.

There’s something incredibly conducive about a live gig showcasing an album in its entirety. The ebbs and flows between songs, the exchange of energy between bandmates…it encapsulates the audience in the performance and that’s exactly what rock heavyweights Starve will be doing come September 21 at Revs. The Bandroom will be rocking with 22 minutes of the album Life’s Promise Dies, which is as angry as it is franticly incredible. Oliver Dollar and Boogs are set for an epic 10-hour back-to-back session, raising the vibration to new heights. Known for their unforgettable performances together, these two are a match made in-house music heaven. Oliver Dollar, a master of deep, soulful house, has become a staple in the scene with tracks like Doin’ Ya Thang and Pushing On. Boogs, a leader in Melbourne’s underground scene, has a reputation for excellence and originality, with his 7am residency at Revolver Sundays being one of the city’s most iconic gigs.
