If you’re an art lover and aged between 13 to 20 then Signal is the place for you.

Run by the City of Melbourne, Signal is Melbourne’s first creative arts studio dedicated to giving young people to chance to throw themselves into a wide variety of art forms including dance, film, animation, music, sound, performance, installation, drawing, painting and sculpture.

And now that we’re nearing summer time it’s the perfect opportunity to head to Signal for their weekly free entertainment and art sessions.

Want a taste of Signal on a Friday night? Get your dancing shoes ready with City Breaks, the energetic free dance workshop and catch Wushu vs B-Boy battle, the not to be missed martial arts and street dance combo.

If you’re more into a different scene try Art Nation. Mingle with the art crowd at this free visual art session. Or maybe From Page to Stage is more your thing? For those aspiring actors and play writers out there this exclusive performance premiere by director Naomi Brouwer and a Melbourne DJ is definitely something to see.

But in the off chance that you miss out on Friday night, there’s more happening Sunday arvo!

There’s the musical and creative Signal Sound, animated and visual Signal Screen and the artistic and inspiring Signal Studio.

Whatever you’re into, Signal’s got something for you!

So make your way to Signal to catch a gig, get your dance on or create a masterpiece.
Signal is located behind Flinder’s Street Station on Northbank, in the Les Erdi Plaza, at the top of Banana Alley.
