Section 8 is cooking up another month of open-air parties throughout July – and you're invited.

Section 8 is back with another epic month of programming. The vibrancy of the music at the city’s favourite container bar this July is uncontainable, from underground bass culture to First Nations talent showcases.

From hard house and UKG to soulful disco and Afro beats, if you find yourself wandering the CBD streets wondering where to dance, just follow the vibrations of the beats to none other than Tattersalls Lane. Head in, grab a beer from the old shipping container, dance between the crates, and allow Section 8 to soundtrack your winter nights. Perfect for those Friday night feels when you want to move your body to something with genuine heart and soul.

UK-born, Sydney-based DJ Bouki brings his high-energy brand of UK Garage and drum & bass to Section 8 alongside a crew of like-minded artists. Known as co-founder of the Dayshift day party series and for his recent sold-out Papa Nugs show, Bouki has become a key figure in Australia’s underground bass scene. Expect bass-driven sounds and community-led programming that pushes the culture forward, with support from Loaf, Renaessance, Rowhan, Obeido and Sim Select.

A groundbreaking new party series launches at Section 8, spotlighting First Nations DJs and producers shaping the sound of the underground. BLAKlight debuts with a four-hour back-to-back set from Naarm-based heavyweights Pvrtal and Trey, both known for high-octane blends that push the tempo and keep feet moving. Pvrtal, founding member of independent record label Tjum Tjumba and a proud Gunai, Yorta Yorta and Waywurru artist, delivers fast-paced, groove-driven sets threading through hard house, trance and techno. Trey, a proud Palawakani artist from Lutruwita now based in Naarm, fuses hard house, garage and tech house into tightly-mixed, dancefloor-focused sets. Support comes from Anima Omada and Braj for this free celebration of Indigenous talent in electronic music.
