Satirical sex doll Double D Dolly is bringing X-rated laughs to Melbourne International Comedy Festival

She’s on a mission to liberate sex toys from bondage.

Comedian, comic poet, visual artist and one of Australia’s leading character impersonators Helchild is bringing X-rated laughs to Melbourne International Comedy Festival next month with their show Dolly The Blow Up Love Doll.

Surreal, outrageous and utterly hilarious, Dolly The Blow Up Love Doll sees Helchild’s titular character embark on a mission to liberate all sex toys from bondage, though things get tricky when viral sex bots begin to take over the planet.

Will Dolly defeat them? There’s only one way to find out.

Never miss a story. Sign up to Beat’s newsletter and you’ll be served fresh music, arts, food and culture stories five times a week.

Taking place over three nights as part of this year’s MICF, you can guarantee this show is unlike anything else you’ll catch at the festival – or anywhere else, for that matter.

Full of tasteless country songs, rampaging sex bots and embarrassing surprises, it’s a wild ride that will leave you in stitches.

A seasoned comedian and MICF regular, Helchild frequents the likes of Queer Comedy Thursdays, Loosey Goosey and more, though you won’t recognise them as Double D Dolly.

You’ll want to leave the kids at home for this one.

Catch Dolly The Blow Up Love Doll at Club Voltaire on April 13, 15 and 17 as part of MICF. Tickets and more info via the MICF website
