It feels like I’m selling Ode To Ignorance short by talking on the production, but briefly, the cello is like a creeping, stripped back version of something you’d find on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It’s great, and lays a foundation for Remi’s excellent, complex lyricisms, spitting confronting bars, rising above the political impotence that besets so many Australian artists – hip-hop and otherwise – with sharp, fearless wit. “Fear is a drug / Our dealer’s The Herald Sun”. A good reminder of the excellence of last year’s Raw x Infinity.
