Hosted by the always-entertaining Lizzy Hoo and featuring special international guest spots from UK’s Paddy Young and US comic Chanel Ali, the grand final promises to be a no-holds-barred comedy showdown where careers are launched and legends are born.
For nearly three decades, RAW Comedy has been the ultimate breeding ground for fresh comedic talent, giving unknown performers their first taste of the spotlight. The competition has spent the last three months scouring every corner of the country to find that magical combination of original material, fearless joke-telling and authentic funny bones.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for these comedy newcomers. Beyond claiming the prestigious RAW Comedy 2025 title, the winner scores a golden ticket to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to compete in So You Think You’re Funny? – rubbing shoulders with the cream of emerging global comic talent.
As Australia’s premier launching pad for comedy careers, RAW Comedy boasts an alumni list that reads like a who’s who of Australian comedy. Past participants include Anne Edmonds, Ronny Chieng, Tom Ballard, Sam Campbell, Sarah Kendall, Georgie Carroll, Celia Pacquola, Josh Thomas, Hannah Gadsby, Aaron Chen, Rhys Nicholson, Becky Lucas and Joel Creasey.
This is your chance to witness comedy history in the making – to be that smug friend who says “I saw them before they were famous” when these fresh-faced comics are headlining arenas in a few years’ time.
The future of Australian comedy is bright, bold and ready to make you spit your drink out laughing. Don’t miss it. Get tickets here.
