Three lucky Beat readers are set to win a double pass each to Ben Hunter's Comedy Festival show this Thursday April 10.

Ben Hunter returns to Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his sophomore stand-up show, Self-Titled.

The teenage comedian, who claims to be “only 15 or 16,” brings his observations on how the world has gone totally mad to Melbourne audiences in a show he promises will be a 4D experience.

Despite his youth, Hunter has already performed at major venues across Australia and opened for comedy talents including Aaron Chen, Emma Holland, Morgan Jay and Gianmarco Soresi, while also writing for television.

In the show description, Hunter notes: “My name is Ben Hunter, and so is my show’s. In this, my sophomore stand-up comedy show, I’ll be speaking about how the world has gone totally mad. I know that might seem like low-hanging fruit, but low-hanging fruit still contributes to a balanced five serves a day.”

He continues with characteristic confidence: “I may only be 15 or 16, but I can put on a comedy show that is at the very least on par with my contemporaries, some of whom I’m told are up to double my age.”

Self-Titled will run for 60 minutes and is suitable for audiences 15 and over, with the festival noting it contains mild language. The show includes several specially priced sessions including Preview night, Tightarse Tuesday, and Laugh Pack performances.

Tickets range from $23-$30, with the festival recommending audiences complement their comedy experience by visiting the Festival Club for “laughs and letting loose on the dance floor” after the show.

Ben Hunter’s Self-Titled is presented by Bohm Presents as part of the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival program, which features hundreds of local and international acts across multiple venues throughout Melbourne.
