What do you love about making music?

I love the energy between players and the audience. I love manipulating sounds in the studio and creating something that takes the music to another level. I like to utilise the technology available.

What do you hate about the music industry?

I hate the fact that you spend 90 percent of your time doing non musical stuff. Charlie Watts was right you just spend endless amounts of time waiting to play.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

Fortune Favoured Me is my eighth album, most of which are available online. There’s a couple of blues and gospel CDs, the Vodou CD which has a kind of ambient world groove going on, a country CD and a couple of more hardcore original rock albums, There’s a few dance cuts I did floating around in the mix somewhere.

When’s the gig and with who?

Sunday October 14, 3pm at Substation, Newport. I’ll be joined by my good friends David Bridie, Shannon Bourne, Kylie Auldist, Nichaud Fitzgibbon, Dean Addison, Mark Grunden, Andy Ogburn and Khristian Mizzi.

If you could go on tour with any musician or band, who would it be?

Bowie , if he was still touring. His recordings are pure art, the more you listen the more you find and learn. I admire the way he traverses genres and nails them every time. He’s never boring just constantly evolving.
