New wave London icons THE THE are returning to Australia and New Zealand as part of their Ensouled world tour.
After leaving a trail of sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne during their last visit in 2018, Matt Johnson and the THE THE crew are gearing up to make their mark once again. This time, they’re not only revisiting familiar grounds in Sydney and Melbourne but also gracing Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland – marking their first shows in these cities in over 30 years.
“We’re very excited to be coming down to Australia and New Zealand again and to be playing more cities than our last tour in 2018. We’ve always been treated very well by our wonderful audiences in these two countries and we’re very happy to be able to see them again and re-connect to share some old and new memories,” expresses the band.

Frontman Matt Johnson, a veteran of London’s nightlife and live music scene, formed his first band at 11 and dove into the music industry at 15. Beyond his role in THE THE, Johnson is a film soundtrack composer, publisher, broadcaster, and political activist.
In 2018, Johnson resurrected THE THE for tours across the UK, Europe, and the US, culminating in The Comeback Special live album and film. Ticket sales skyrocketed, selling out within minutes, reaffirming the unwavering love of their fanbase.
