Monsters Of Rock

Tribute band fans get ready: this will rock your face off.

Righto – first things first – Monsters Of Rock is back!

So, the event name: how did you come up with it, and what’s it all about?

MONSTERS OF ROCK much like the entire tribute thing is trying to replicate the parent namesake which come to fame a few decades ago. Obviously major rock acts on the same bill. Ours obviously a similar concept just with tribute shows. My brother (Steve from KISStroyer) come up with the name and concept.

And what’s the damn show all about?

Good times – rock ‘n’ roll is not about anything other than having a good time. I don’t think there is a deeper meaning How has the reaction been each year for the show? Ticket sales like every other year are running hot. It will sell out again. So if you are thinking of going get onto THE HIFI asap to ensure you have a ticket.

What made you decide to put together the event in the first place?

It was an idea my brother come up with and sounded pretty cool and fun. The success of it over eight years is the proof in the pudding I guess. I would want to see a show like that also. Why do you reckon there’s such as demand for it, and why are people interested in what you’re doing? I think that people enjoy and demand it because it is a quality show, great production and a lot of work goes into it which is obvious when you see the show.

Who should people check out this time ‘round – because if they don’t they’ll hate themselves for it?

All acts do what they do amazingly well. So I am reluctant to choose one over the other If one was to ignore their ears, what will MOR 8 smell, feel, look and taste like? Smell like Sh#t, Feel like slime, Look pretty amazing and taste . . . hmmm? Probably not so good after the gig!

If you had to talk someone into coming, how would you convince them?

Thankfully enough come where I don’t need to convince more hahaha ! What sort of tunes can expect between sets for people to rock out to? Lots of classic rock/metal tunes from yesteryear.

Do you believe music can make a difference in the world?

Most definitely. It already has in so many ways . . most obviously events like LIVE AID etc What do you hope to achieve with the event? Keeping the rock scene alive. It seems there is a steady trend of people gravitating to acts/shows that don’t actually play instruments….hmmm.

What would you recommend as the best activity to pursue whilst the event is happening?

Getting into the VIP area upstairs and mingling with the healthy specimens we often have circulating up there.

Righto – a chance to finish off – when’s the gig and who is playing… and really, why should we all go?

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 27 at THE HIFI , 125 Swanston St City KISSTROYER, APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION, HIGH VOLTAGE, BINGE & PURGE and TANTALUM You should go because it is a very cool night out.
