Miley Cyrus’ life has been well documented since her teens, both bad and good parts. Her latest offering Younger Now is a reflection of her perception and growth as an artist.
Title track and album opener ‘Younger Now’ is an ode to change and growth. The lyrics “No one stays the same,” and “Change is a thing you can count on,” are met with a guitar sound similar to that of Pink Floyd and a catchy pop chorus.
Album highlights ‘Miss You So Much’ and ‘I Would Die for You’ are key emotional points of the record. Incredible instrumentation and lush harmonies are combined with metaphoric lyric content to create potentially the two best tracks on the record.
Cyrus’ country roots are showcased on ‘Bad Mood’, and the album’s final track ‘Inspired’. The first being a depiction of a toxic relationship, and the latter reflecting on the many different changes in life – death, love, and everything in between.
Younger Now is a defining moment in Cyrus’ music career, and is the first of many incredible albums to come.
