Melbourne Cabaret Festival In July

cabaret01.jpeg

With more than 100 performers in 36 cabaret shows from comedy cabaret, musical theatre, New York style, vaudeville, edgy and queer shows, the second Melbourne Cabaret Festival will feature a whole range of fun stuff that will appeal to almost everyone.

One of the features is A Night With Faulty Towers (not ‘fawlty’ guys? Just actually faulty? …) is a cabaret version of the comedy dining show. Not sure if I want to see Basil in fishnets, but we’ll give it a go…

There’s also Le Gateau Chocolat from the UK, who have been in La Clique, an act based around the songs of Paul Kelly, Jon Jackson with What The World Needs Now and The Big Gay Sunday Cabaret (self-explanatory?). Sammy J will open the festival at the Gala and Trevor Jones will host the Late Night Piano Bar.
