The ‘Hertz lead the game from the start, and won 9.10.64 to the Doggies’ 5.7.37. Alex Casablancas from Megahertz, won the Stephen Connelly Award for best on ground.

Organisers say over 10,000 attended the 21st game, a testament to the day’s sunny weather and of course commitment to the day’s theme of Feelin’ Kinda Sporty.

Two skydivers delivered the ball pre coin-toss to Anthony Albanese MP to kick the game off.

Entertainment through the day included Ally Spazzy’s Kiddyrock & The Cool Bananas for the kids, followed by Pearls and Adalita, with The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra for half time. Graveyard Train put in an intense set, justifying why their Leaps and Bounds show next month sold out.

Former Rockdogs coach Paul Kelly and nephew Dan Kelly did their version of Dave Graney & The Coral Snakes’ song Feelin’ Kinda Sporty.
