Meet the Amaru Tribe

Katherine Gailer: I’m the singer, rapper, graphic designer and writer. This project has become an essential space for me to collaborate, experiment and develop a new vision. Amaru Tribe is driven by topics of social change, diversity, and the need to reconnect to our ancestral wisdom to save the environment.

Oscar Jimenez
: I do vocals, acoustic guitar and write and produce. I feel proud of this group and all the great people that surround us. The world is changing and so must we. This is a great opportunity for us to make this transition the best we can and use music as a tool for unity.

Emiliano Beltzer: Most people call me Memo. I play bass and do backing vocals. I think the interesting thing about Amaru Tribe is that it’s really multicultural. The five of us are from different parts of South America and have quite different musical backgrounds, and it’s from that place that we create a sound that belongs to all of us.

Cristian Saavedra: I do percussion, backing vocals and play the beats on the sample pad. I have worked in many bands in Melbourne and this band has given me the opportunity to explore new horizons.

Abe Dunovits: Uke, electric buitar and BV’s. I generally try to do my job properly and hope that nobody gets in my way, otherwise I give them a nipple twister.
