Luke McGregor’s new show Goooood insists everything is fine now

Words by staff writer

Luke McGregor has built a career on worrying, so his new show Goooood is a strange swerve towards optimism.

Goooood imagines a 2027 where nothing’s broken. Luke McGregor’s planned material includes the joy of cheap fuel and one low-price subscription that covers everything, delivered by a man who still suspects billionaires aren’t on our side. The tour starts in Adelaide on 9 March and wraps in Newcastle on 4 September, with 15 stops across every state plus the ACT. Perth and Hobart get two shows on the night, at 5pm and 7pm.

Melbourne’s run at the Comedy Theatre on Exhibition Street goes from 25 March to 4 April, second only to Adelaide’s in length. Most shows start at 6pm, and tickets cost $39 to $49, level with Adelaide for the cheapest on the tour. One regional Victorian date is locked in: The Capital in Bendigo on 28 August, a National Trust-listed building that started life as a Masonic hall in the gold rush years.

Before this came Okay, Wow, the hour McGregor toured through 2025 and into 2026, catching audiences up on his wife, his kids, two chickens and an axolotl. It played the Comedy Theatre during the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and won a Weekly Comedy Award at Perth’s Fringe World that same year.

Luke McGregor’s stand-up career began by accident. He stepped into RAW Comedy in Tasmania in 2007 at the last minute, after another contestant didn’t turn up, and six years later won Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Rosehaven, the ABC series he co-created and starred in with Celia Pacquola, earned him the 2019 Logie for Most Popular Actor.

These days he co-hosts Portrait Artist of the Year, which won the 2026 AACTA Award for Best Entertainment Program. He’s also been a guest on Have You Been Paying Attention? and recently headed to Scotland with Shaun Micallef for Origin Odyssey. Tickets for Goooood go on sale 6 November at comedy.com.au.
