What to Expect at the Lego Star Wars Exhibition
Life-sized Lego Star Wars creations
The exhibition’s centrepiece will be the world’s first life-sized Lego Star Wars figure: the X-Wing RED-5. Made from 64,759 bricks and taking 382 hours to build, this incredible creation sets the tone for a display of epic proportions.
The largest touring Lego exhibition in the world
Boasting over 8 million Lego bricks, the Lego Star Wars exhibition will include intricate models of iconic scenes, characters, and vehicles from the Star Wars saga. The displays are the result of more than 25,000 hours of construction, showcasing the immense dedication and skill involved in translating these beloved stories into Lego form.
Built in Melbourne
All models will be built locally at Brickman’s Tullamarine headquarters under the guidance of Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught. As Australia’s only Lego Certified Professional and one of only 23 worldwide, McNaught has led the charge on creating this galaxy-sized exhibition, blending creativity with Star Wars lore.
This exhibition is a major cultural coup for Victoria. Secured by the Victorian government, it adds to an already packed events calendar for 2025, including the Australian Open, the men’s and women’s Ashes, and the NGV’s French Impressionism exhibition. Tourism Minister Steve Dimopoulos highlighted the exhibition’s significance, stating, “We’re bringing a Lego galaxy to Melbourne – this is an experience that will captivate fans of all ages and celebrate creativity on an unprecedented scale.” The exhibition will also showcase Melbourne Museum as a cultural hub, following the success of other major attractions like Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition and Victoria the T. Rex.
