The first round of announcements for the festival’s huge ten-day program has just been revealed, with a host of national and international acts set to play across Melbourne.

Leaps and Bounds 2017 launches on Thursday July 13 at the Corner Hotel, with performances from Augie March, Jess Ribeiro and The Pink Tiles.

The festival will be set all across Melbourne’s cultural heartland, the City of Yarra, at familiar venues like the Tote and the Evelyn Hotel, along with a few open-air concerts and street parties.

For their first round of programming, the festival has revealed a tribute to Melbourne’s Little Bands scene featuring Primitive Calculators, Use No Hooks and Hot To Rot. Elsewhere comes a solo performance from The Peep Tempel’s Blake Scott, Ed Kuepper celebrating 40 years since the Saints’ debut album I’m Stranded, a double-header lineup with Friendships and Habits, a set from party masters GL and more.

Further highlights include a showcase featuring some of the brightest females in country music, a documentary about The Tote complete with a never-before-seen 2008 live set from Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
