Members of feminist punk collective Pussy Riot will head to the festival as part of a special screening of Evgeny Mitta’s extraordinary documentary, Act and Punishment, detailing the activists and their incarceration for undermining “moral foundations” and offending “religious feelings” in Putin’s Russia.
Elsewhere, Australian neo soul hero Nai Palm is heading to Tasmania with support from ambient dreamer Anu Lou, while UK progressive grime act Gaika take to the stage alongside London rapper Kojey Radical and Australian R&B force Kandere.
Further highlights include sets from Gold Class, Scott and Charlene’s Wedding, RVG and Chloe Alison Escott. Dark Mofo’s large-scale public art playground Dark Park is also loaded with immersive installations including technicolour lasers and sound works, thunderous guitar improvisation and surreal art.
Capping it off comes a hefty film program, as well as a series of panel discussions.
