The unique collaboration comes straight after the MSO performed a sold out concert with Flight Facilities to 13,000 people last month.
Mills is no stranger to the MSO, he performed with the orchestra in a sold out show as part of the 2014 Melbourne Festival. In his 2016 show, he will stage an all-new, never-before-performed set especially created with composer Thomas Roussel, while May’s set is entitled Music is Music – a homage to his early moniker Rhythim is Rhythim.
Over the course of their careers Mills and May have performed with the likes of the Montpellier National Orchestra, L’Orchestre National d’Ile de France, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
