What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?
A 4 track Ep at this stage, self titled.
So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?
Carl Treasure, I play guitar.
Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?
A few people always introduce themselves after a gig and want to chat about it, they usually mention they hear a few of the early post punk bands. That’s just natural because we’ve listened to that music for so long. I think the influence is subtle though, we’re very conscious not to sound like a throw back to that era.
What do you love about making music?
I had most of the songs written before we formed a band. The biggest thrill has been hearing the songs evolve with three of my closest friends. I thought the songs were finished but Heath, Jimi and Keith each brought something else in, not even changes, just their style and character made everything sound better. Outside listeners would never pick up on that but that’s what I love about it.
What do you hate about the music industry?
It’s probably as it should be. Everyone knows there’s the big ugly side of it that spends all its energy feeding terrible music to morons, but it’s been that way so long the independent bands, labels, websites, radio shows and networking tools just keep getting better and better. Most of my favourite bands kicked against the maintream side of the industry and found a way, it feels like any band starting today has a lot less fighting to do just to be heard. There’s plenty of other things to be angry about.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?
Bon Scott. My other heroes are still alive so they’d just be a waste of a time machine.
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?
One? Geez, if I only get 1 bullet I’d have to use it on Tori Amos, but I’d try to beat Sting to death with her corpse ‘till the cops arrived.
What can a punter expect from your live show?
We play very loudly.
