Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's The Music of Elton — 40 Years of MSO x Elton John brings four major performances to Hamer Hall, with a Sunday matinee.
Forty years since Sir Elton John invited the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra along on a national orchestral tour, the MSO is marking the occasion with a run of concerts that bring his catalogue roaring back to life.

At the helm is Chong Lim AM, John Farnham’s long-time musical director and one of Australia’s most respected arrangers and producers, whose work here promises exactly the balance between orchestral sweep and rock punch you’d hope for.
Singer and pianist Jason Dean leads the charge alongside his seven-piece ensemble Superband: Karl Lewis on drums, Joseph Fernand on bass, Tania Dean and Lynda Fenollar on vocals, Artie Jones on saxophone and percussion, and Dylan Boyd on guitar and vocals. Special guests Brett Garsed and Lindsay Field, both well known for their work with the John Farnham Band, round things out nicely.
Four shows, one of the greatest catalogues ever written, and a 40-year anniversary worth getting off the couch for.
