With an extremely limited palette, two-piece Gooch Palms somehow manage to attain a sense of scope similar to The Cult or some shit. Maybe it’s frontman Leroy’s impassioned croon, maybe it’s drummer Kat’s subtle rhythmic cues. Whatever it is, the optimism is infectious, as is the eventual relenting into sun-drenched, beachy “woo-ooh” harmonies.
