The iconic Scottish rockers will hit the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens on Friday 28 November, and let’s be real – a balmy night in the gardens, a few drinks under the stars, and Take Me Out live? It’s shaping up to be the gig of the summer.

This long-awaited Aussie return comes off the back of the band’s sixth studio album, The Human Fear – a punchy, energetic release that proves Franz Ferdinand still have that same electric spark that first shot them to fame. Released earlier this year to plenty of love from critics and fans alike, the album is bursting with big choruses, raw emotion, and a real sense of purpose.

True to form, The Human Fear dives deep – exploring the strange little anxieties and existential weirdness that make us all human, while still giving us the upbeat, art-school rock bangers we’ve come to expect. It’s also the first studio album to feature new members Audrey Tait and Dino Bardot, with collaborators Julian Corrie, Alex Kapranos, and Bob Hardy stepping up creatively across the board.

Supporting them on the tour are local legends Teenage Dads and Delivery, both of whom are no strangers to rowdy live shows and punchy, hook-filled tunes. So get there early – you’ll want to catch the whole lineup.

From throwing illegal warehouse parties in Glasgow to headlining global stages, Franz Ferdinand has always marched to the beat of their own chaotic, catchy drum.

This November, they’re bringing the party to Melbourne’s most iconic garden.
