Eskimo Joe will headline Lincoln Park Twilight Festival in Essendon on Saturday, 28 February.
Western suburbs, get ready. Alt-rock legends Eskimo Joe are bringing their power trio energy to Essendon for what’s shaping up to be one hell of a free Saturday night.
Lincoln Park Twilight Festival returns with the beloved Aussie act celebrating two decades since their mega-successful album Black Fingernails, Red Wine dropped, and they’ll be mixing those classics with fresh material from their recent releases.
It’s not just Eskimo Joe holding down the fort either. Alt pop-rock crew Joan & the Giants are rolling in hot off the back of touring with Pink and The Fray, while DJ Be Kind to Other People makes a welcome return to warm up the crowd. Local pop singer Ken Shing will kick things off with his upbeat tracks, and the whole shebang will be hosted by radio and TV personality Zan Rowe, who’s got ties to the Moonee Valley area.

Lincoln Park Twilight Festival has become one of Moonee Valley’s most popular events over the years, previously pulling in acts like Sneaky Sound System and Rogue Traders, and now; Eskimo Joe. Best part? It’s completely free. Pack a picnic, bring the crew, or hit up the local food trucks that’ll be scattered around the park. Kids’ activities and roaming entertainment mean the whole family’s sorted for the evening.
This kicks off a solid run of festivals for Moonee Valley. Mediterranean Fiesta follows on Sunday, 15 February at Centreway in Keilor East, serving up music, dancing and a chance to taste what local businesses are cooking. Then Queens Park in Moonee Ponds gets its turn on Sunday, 15 March when Moonee Valley Festival takes over with multiple stages and a stacked all-ages lineup.
Three massive community events across three months means there’s no excuse not to get out and see what the west has going on. Mayor Dr Rose Iser reckons the area’s in for some world-class acts this festival season, and judging by this lineup, she’s not wrong.
