Who are we chatting to? Alex from Drown This City, I do the vocals.
What do people say you sound like? Probably a cross between over-synthy metalcore/post-hardcore and fronted by a choir girl living out her heavy metal fantasies.
What do you love about making music? Having a family of brothers to share my dreams, passions, highs and lows with. We have each other 24/7, never stop talking shit, and we get to create together, tour together and it’s really the best feeling in the world. To sit down and write together is an experience only musicians will understand – the connection, energy and inspiration that comes from it cements why we put up with the shit we do and keep working hard.
What do you hate about the music industry? Social media haters. I’ll never understand how people get off on trolling and hating on each other.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be? I’d probably want to sit down with Davey Havok from AFI or Matt Bellamy from Muse. It’s never too late so you never know.
What can a punter expect from your live show? Lots of noise, energy, good vibes, and many post-show beers.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise? Our debut EP False Idols is out now. Apparently, it’s being scalped on Ebay for an extorted price so that’s pretty cool.
