Hailing from Rhode Island, Deer Tick have captured their rollicking live sound on their fourth and latest offering, Divine Providence, with an exuberant romp full of youthful energy, driving alt-country noise, furious punk-influenced bar-rock and reflective blues. Two Gallants are alternately explosive and restrained on their aptly titled new album, The Bloom And The Blight. Slightly shifting from the San Francisco duo’s folk and blues based past, it’s more reflective of their ferocious live shows.
