David and Annie have teamed up for a major album collaboration, Love This Giant, recorded over two years in Hoboken, New Jersey. The lead single is as arch and arty as you’d hope, skewing towards David’s swinging jungle pop, loaded with farting brass and smooth humming synth. St Vincent’s heavily layered vocals cut through with a bit of feminine silk. Interesting. More fun than phenomenal.
