From DJ house nights to start off the weekends right, to sad folk and mad metal, and, of course, some comedy to keep you laughing all through the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The Toff is your one-stop shop this April for all things fun times, parties, and community artist events. Read on for the full rundown of what events are on offer at one of Naarm’s favourite venues this April.

Monday Night Comedy Club

  • 1st-15th April

Some of the biggest stars from Melbourne Comedy Fest are coming onto the stage at The Toff to start your week off right – with a bloody laugh of course! And all for the cheap price of a bargain.

  • Tuesday 2nd, 9th & 16th April

When people say Melbourne has a world-class jazz scene, this is what they’re talking about

Are you a bit of a rave head but often find yourself at the club thinking, “gee I wish they’d just play some jazz I can vibe to”? Well, Now.Here.This. Live Jazz is the answer to all your worries. The super talented NHT ALL STAR BAND will be gracing The Toff stage to soothe your Tuesday night blues.  

West Coast Wednesdays

  • Wednesday 3rd & 10th April

No, we’re not talking West Coast Eagles footy club – we’re talking 2Pac, we’re talking Snoop, we’re talking Ice Cube. Conquer hump-day with all things West Coast hip-hop – Melbourne’s best DJs attacking 90s classics, with their unique take, blended into the mix.

  • Jack Popper & Dentallplan

Disco. Funk. House. Party. It’s almost illegal to feel bad on the 13th of April with the beats that will be flowing at The Toff. DJs Jack Popper and Dentallplan will be your dance party soundtrack for the foreseeable future – cause at this party, you won’t be thinking about tomorrow!

Proto Exotica

  • Saturday 20th April
  • Reenie & Ezines

Sydney based DJ/Producer Reenie will take you on an outer space journey through The Toff with her eclectic synth-heavy warp through beat and outer-body exploration. Perth newcomers Ezines unique blend of acid-house and hip-hop, will tie the night together effortlessly with a bow. 

Toff’s Metal Mania

  • Wednesday 24th April
  • Fall and Resist w/Distorta, Moustage Art & Escation

24th of April, The Toff will transform into the basement of doom – with pure, unadulterated Metal. All. Night. Long. Headlined by the force and grit of melo-death metal outfit Fall and Resist. Their brand of thrash and post-metal, crashes through the surface of death metal and breaks the barriers. Supported by heavy hitters Distorta, Moustage Art and Escation, prepare to have your eardrums ruined! 

Joel Leggett

  • Saturday 27th April
  • With Rod Coote & Laura Lucas

Folk indie heartstring puller Joel Leggett is gracing the Toff stage to launch his new single Cup Of Tea. His effortless flow of melody and weeping guitar makes even the hardest nut cracked in an instant. Supported by wholesome indie folk lyricist Rod Coote and warm indie folk storyteller Laura Lucas. You might need a box of tissues at this one.
