Details are still filtering through about what is to become of the shattered remnants of Soundwave Revolution. Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide have had ‘Counter Revolution’ shows confirmed that will see around a dozen Revolutions bands join forces for a mini festival. The only problem is we’re getting a quarter of the bands at three quarters of the price. Melbourne’s Counter Revolution will take place at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on September 30 and host Panic At The Disco, All Time Low, Yellowcard, Story Of The Year, Face To Face, The Damned Things, Set Your Goals, Funeral For A Friend, Hellogoodbye, D.R.U.G.S., The Pretty Reckless, Young Guns, This Providence, Go Radio, Make Do And Mend, Alesana, The Swellers, We ARE The In Crowd and Terrible Things. Soundwave have also revealed that there will be ‘a series of headline shows for other Soundwave Revolution acts including Watain, Whitechapel,Alter Bridge, Skindred and The World Alive. Apparently we can expected to see Sum 41, The Dangerous Summer, Steel Panther, Danzig and Relient K here shortly.

In even MORE Soundwave news, we’re starting to get confirmation of bands scheduled to play the annual festival in February. Looks like we’ll be seeing Machine Head, Dashboard Confessional and, perhaps most importantly, The Dillinger Escape Plan on our shores next year. Melbourne’s festival has been confirmed for Friday March 2.

The Devil Wears Prada will return to Australia next month for an extremely quick tour in support of their new album Dead Throne. The band is here for one week only and Melbourne has scored the Saturday and Sunday shows. We win! See them play with We Came AS Romans and Dream On Dreamer at Billboard on Saturday October 22 (u18), and Sunday October 23 (18+).

Meredith’s full festival lineup has been revealed and as usual there’s something in there for everyone. Exciting additions includeGrinderman, Mudhoney, Explosions In The Sky, Future Of The Left, Graveyard Train and OFF!

Russian Circles must truly love Melbourne as they’ve just announced a third show in our fine city. Now you can catch the sludge instrumental rockers at the East Brunswick Club (Wednesday Sept 7), Corner Hotel (Thursday September 8) AND with Monster Magnet on Friday September 16.
