Beloved community event Coburg Night Market takes over Bridges Reserve from 11-13 December with a stacked local line-up.
Coburg Night Market is back for three nights this December, taking over Bridges Reserve with some killer live music and serious crowds.
Summer in Melbourne’s north kicks off properly when Coburg Night Market returns from Thursday 11 to Saturday 13 December. Merri-bek City Council has shifted the format this year, running the event Thursday through Saturday instead of the usual Friday-Saturday setup, which means kicking off a day earlier and spreading the action across a full three nights.
Music programming comes from MzRizk, a local DJ and creative producer who’s been shaping Melbourne’s music scene for years. She’s assembled a line-up that pulls from across the north’s best talent; artists who genuinely represent what’s happening in the area right now.

Thursday launches strong with Triple R’s DJ Systa BB setting things up before Miss Katalyna and Kee’Ahn bring soulful vocals and groove-heavy sets that’ll get people moving.
Friday escalates with DJ General Feelings opening, then Kazaband delivering infectious rhythms, Miss Emilia’s smooth sounds and Teymori’s genre-blending approach.
Saturday runs longest, starting at midday with PBS DJ Mike Gurrieri and Triple R’s Pebbles keeping energy high between live sets from Soundmakrz and Lily Hallawell; both selected by Amped Up, Merri-bek’s youth music committee.
Wild Gloriosa and Amaru Tribe close out the weekend with soul and Latin-fuelled performances that’ll send everyone home buzzing.
Sanctum Studio brings roving performances throughout the reserve, adding unexpected bursts of colour and movement between food trucks and stages. Bee-longing in Merri-bek runs drawing workshops for anyone wanting to create something between sets, a solid way to catch your breath before diving back into the crowds.
MCs Callum Padgham and Hawraa Kash guide the three nights, which genuinely helps when you’re navigating multiple stages, trying to grab food and working out which act to catch next.
Saturday’s midday start opens things up for families properly. Counihan Gallery is running an activity where kids create postcard-sized drawings that’ll be displayed in the gallery windows come January. Creed Custom Designs hosts jewellery-making workshops too, giving younger attendees hands-on creative time before the evening performances hit their stride.
Food trucks and maker stalls pack out the reserve as always, covering dinner, drinks and Christmas shopping in one spot. You can eat well, pick up something handmade, see multiple bands and still find time to sit on the grass with mates without feeling like you’re missing out.
Bridges Reserve handles big crowds well; flat, accessible, plenty of room to spread out when things get busy. Dogs are welcome, which matters when you live walking distance and want to avoid parking nightmares. Free entry removes any hesitation about checking it out, and the late finish means you can rock up after work and still catch most of the action.
