Secret international headliners and a DJ open mic: The party doesn’t stop at Glamorama this November

Words By Kaya Martin

If it’s past a certain hour on a Saturday night and you still don’t know where you’re going, Glamorama is the only right answer.

Known for late nights, loud music and an impressive ability to get the who’s-who of underground house and techno onto the decks, Glamorama is a staple on the Melbourne clubbing scene.

Glamorama opened its doors in November 2014, carving out a niche in Fitzroy’s crowded nightlife scene with a simple philosophy: keep it unpretentious, keep it fun, and keep the dance floor moving. Over the past decade, the venue has become a sanctuary for Melbourne’s underground electronic music community, hosting everyone from local selectors to international heavyweights while maintaining its reputation as a place where the music matters more than the posturing.

The club’s longevity isn’t just about booking big names. It’s built on a foundation of genuine community, where regulars and first-timers alike can lose themselves in the music without the pretence that plagues so many of the city’s more image-conscious venues. That welcoming atmosphere, combined with a consistently forward-thinking booking policy, has kept Glamorama relevant through Melbourne’s ever-shifting nightlife landscape.

This month, the bookers have over-delivered, giving us not one, not two, but SIX international artists – with a few still yet to be revealed. From festival sideshows to high-energy b2bs, the dance floor will be thumping this month. Here’s what you should know.

Belfast’s Jordan Nocturne brings Glamorama’s anniversary month to a sweaty close, arriving fresh from his work as founder of The Night Institute and his increasingly prominent profile across Europe’s underground circuit. Nocturne’s sets are masterclasses in tension and release, drawing from a deep well of italo house, cosmic disco, and peak-time weapons that transform any room into a pressure cooker. Coming off the back of Gaskin’s daytime session, Nocturne’s late-night slot promises to push the celebration into the early hours with the kind of relentless energy that’s made him a fixture in Ireland’s club scene.
