Wild Horses Festival 2026 has extended sets, rare appearances and a secret headliner

Victoria's psychedelic underground is about to celebrate a major milestone, with Wild Horses Festival returning to Carapooee West for its 10th anniversary edition this November.

Running from 13-16 November, the three-day Wild Horses Festival will bring together some of the biggest names in global psychedelic music for what’s shaping up to be the festival’s most ambitious lineup yet.

Capped at an intimate 2250 people, Wild Horses has built its reputation on community, connection to country and a genuinely wild time on the dancefloor.

This year’s anniversary edition goes even bigger, with returning legends, rare Australian appearances and a mystery headliner still under wraps.

The anniversary comes alongside another major win for the team behind it, with Wild Horses recently issued a three-year permit. At a time when permitted festivals and doofs are becoming increasingly difficult to pull off across Victoria, securing multi-year approval is a rare and significant milestone, one that speaks to the event’s ongoing relationship with local authorities and the surrounding community.

DEKEL

DEKEL has been part of the Wild Horses story since day one, making his Australian debut at the festival back in 2018.

This November marks his sixth appearance across the festival’s 10 editions, and his profile has only grown since, with his deep, hypnotic and psychedelic sound building him a devoted following both locally and overseas.

2026 is a huge year for the artist, with the launch of his new label Deepnotic and a fresh album released in February. He’ll also take over Northcote Theatre for an open-to-close set on 19 December.

SHTUBY

A regular on the Wild Horses lineup since his unforgettable debut set in December 2022, SHTUBY returns for his fourth appearance and third year running.

His sets blur the line between DJ performance and live show, often featuring spontaneous electronic flute and theremin alongside his deep, energetic and hypnotic sound.

He’s also entered a new era recently, retiring his signature red suit and releasing a new album, BE, earlier this year.

ELECTRYPNOSE

Vince LeBarde’s Electrypnose project has racked up 25 years of production, and he’s bringing the full breadth of that experience to Wild Horses with three separate sets.

Expect groovy, bush-ready progressive sounds during the day, before shifting into psychedelic techno and then deeper, faster territory once night falls, all through the festival’s Funktion-One sound system.

LIBRA

LIBRA made his Wild Horses debut in 2023 with a set that left a lasting impression, and he’s back for round two.

His sound draws on Goa and acid trance but filters it through a distinctly modern lens.

This time he’ll bring a stack of unreleased material, plus a rare old-school Goa retro DJ set reserved for special occasions.

ETNICA

Fresh off celebrating 30 years at Wild Horses in 2024, Etnica return for the 10-year edition with not one but four different projects on offer: Etnica, Pleiadians, Tecnica and Etnica in Dub.

Pioneers of the psychedelic trance genre, the group has spent decades shaping the sound and recently delivered extended sets at Ozora, Boom and an eight-hour closing set at Free Earth Festival in Greece.

DAKSINAMURTI

This one’s for the night-time wizards.

As the founder of Sangoma Records, one of the most respected labels in night-time psychedelic music, Daksinamurti is known for extended journeys through forest, night-time and deeply hypnotic sounds.

For the 10-year anniversary, he’ll make a rare Australian appearance, his first since 2008, taking control of the main stage on Saturday night for an extended set.

Wild Horses Festival 2026

On top of all that, Wild Horses has a surprise 10th anniversary headliner up its sleeve, one of the biggest names in the psychedelic scene, who’ll be closing out the festival with an extended set of their own.

Who it is remains under wraps for now.
