Submissions for the council’s annual Art Grant Program open next week.

City of Melbourne has announced the return of its annual Art Grant Program, with submissions for next year’s grant round open from Tuesday September 1.

Available to artists, creatives and small to medium arts organisations, City of Melbourne’s 2021 arts grants will fall into three categories: arts projects, Aboriginal arts projects and arts residencies.

Grants of up to $5,000 for arts project development and up to $20,000 for presentation and online projects will be open to artists and small to medium organisations. The same will apply for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and organisations for the Aboriginal arts projects grant.

Three arts residency grants of $10,000 are up for grabs, too, each with differing eligibility. The Boyd Studio-1 residency grant will be open to artists and small to medium arts organisations for a six month duration between July 5 and December 19, 2021.

The Boyd Garret arts residency grant will be open to writers of any genre for a 12-month duration from January 11, 2021 until December 19, 2021.

Finally, the Art and Heritage Collection arts residency grant will be open to individual artists for up to 12 months, dates negotiable.

As always, City of Melbourne will host grant writing workshops in early September to help with your applications. Submissions close on Monday September 28.
