Iconic streetwear brand Champion has announced that they’ll be teaming up with Cosmo’s Midnight for the second instalment of their ‘Champion Revealed’ series — a campaign dedicated to equipping Australian emergers with the resources they need to produce a world-class music video.
Earlier this year Champion partnered with Melbourne hip hop duo REMI for the debut of the series, and the result was absolutely poppin’. Alongside a dedicated documentary-style series championing (sorry, we had to) the duo and giving insight into their creative process, REMI was able to put out a larger-than-life music video for their track ‘My People’ ft. Thando thanks to Champion’s funding.
Cosmo’s Midnight — AKA twin brothers Cosmo and Patrick Liney — are the next cabs off the rank for this project, which is sure to see the duo’s creative output taken to new heights. On the opportunity the pair said:
“Champion has got behind us and enabled us to make the clips we have always dreamed of making. We’re used to working with next to nothing, which means pulling a lot of favours and a lot of stress. Being able to release our vision is really incredible.”
Since forming in 2012, the Sydney duo has marked themselves as landmark electronic purveyors, playing major festival stages and selling out headliners both locally and abroad — and let’s not forget the absolute whirlwind that their 2017 track ‘History’ sent the world into.
‘Lowkey’ from their debut album What Comes Next has been named as the track getting the special treatment as part of the project, which promises to offer the budget and freedom to allow Cosmo’s Midnight to be able to do whatever they bloody well creatively please. Meanwhile, the accompanying documentaries will offer an intimate insight into the duo’s lives, their inspiration for the video, and the massive process involved in executing their vision.
