Brace Yourself For Swans

Swans are still peddling their iconic brand of darkly haunting post-punk after more than twenty years in the business. With a new album out and a mind still firmly planted in the dark imagery of previous albums Swans are taking to the stage to show that age has certainly not wearied them.

Swans are still peddling their iconic brand of darkly haunting post-punk after more than twenty years in the business. With a new album out and a mind still firmly planted in the dark imagery of previous albums Swans are taking to the stage to show that age has certainly not wearied them.

And it’s only taken them almost thirty years to get here. Despite being formed in 1982 Australian and New Zealand audiences had somehow been bypassed by the band up until now. Not only are the experimental musicians playing a show at the Forum Theatre but are also putting on a more intimate show at the East Brunswick Club titled An Evening With Swans.

This two hour performance showcases some slightly different songs from the Forum show and without any support acts the band and the audience will be able to take advantage of the extra time to enjoy everything that a Swans show has to offer. And looking at the long list of albums, EP’s and singles, that is an awful lot.

Swans are playing at the Forum Theatre on Thursday March 10 with tickets from Ticketmaster, and again on Friday March 11 at the East Brunswick Club with tickets from the venue.
