Ben Sherman’s ‘Big British Sound’ will be returning to Australia this year presenting a range of emerging artists from the Australian’s independent music scene.

There’ll be no tea and cakes when Ben Sherman’s Big British Sound returns to Australia this year presenting a range of emerging artists from Australia’s independent music scene.

Each year British based clothing company Ben Sherman handpicks Australian independent music artists to perform in a one-night-only show at a fairly respectable price.

Australian bands, in an Aussie location … so what’s so ‘British’ about it all? Well, each of the band’s selected must cover one or two songs from the British artists that have influenced them or that they generally like.

The Big British Sound events have been running for two years and have featured artists like Big Scary, Tame Impala, Art vs Science, Little Red, Deep Sea Arcade and Bertie Blackman

This year, Ben Sherman’s Melbourne show selection includes indie-pop Strangle Talk, Brisbane six-piece Ball Park Music, Brooke Addamo more widely known as Owl Eyes and Melbourne’s Boy In A Box mixed in with Triple R presenters/DJs Simon Winkler and Jess McGuire

You can catch this line-up at Big British Sound on Wednesday May 11 at The Corner Hotel. Tickets are on sale April 4.
