Hello. Who are we speaking with and what’s your band doing at AWME 2015?

You’re speaking with James from Pirra and we are stoked to be showcasing our music at AWME 2015. We’ve been working hard on our new material and can’t wait to unveil it.

What do you think is unique about AWME and its role in cultivating Australian Music?

The music industry is built on relationships and AWME provides an amazing platform for artists and industry figures to connect. This event is so important because it encourages local talent to build a long-term, sustainable music career by providing them with the opportunity to network and learn from industry professionals.

What can punters expect from the atmosphere of AWME and from your show?

Punters can expect a vibrant atmosphere of curious minds and creative music. From Pirra expect upbeat, groove-oriented pop rock with a touch of optimistic angst.

Who are some artists that we should definitely be catching this year?

Kingfisha, OKA and Emma Donovan are safe bets for a great show. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Ngaiire. And of course Pirra.

If a movie was being set in AWME 2015, what would be the plot?

The conference would be the scene for the beginning of a zombie outbreak. The fact that at least one other artist is bound to mention zombies in their response only proves me right. There would be a horrific struggle for survival, then whatever humans managed to fight their way out with guitars would gradually band together.

PIRRA play AWME 2015, which goes down from Thursday November 12 – Saturday November 14. The programme also includes Mojo Juju, The Audreys and Skipping Girl Vinegar.
