Whether you’re on the lookout for hilarious music-comedy, fresh talent or a hefty dose of nostalgia, Memo Music Hall has something for you. With nights dedicated to the work of Steve Earl and Van Morrison, a few historic anniversaries of iconic works, and a couple of internationals to boot, it’s a proper feast for the senses, so make sure you come hungry.

What else is on the menu, you ask? We’ll give you the rundown.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

Forty Years Of Steve Earle’s Guitar Town

Dust off your boots and denim, because Memo Music Hall is celebrating Guitar Town, the album that helped launch Steve Earle into country-rock legend status. With Shane Nicholson, Duncan Phillips and an all-star cast of vocalists including Freya Josephine Hollick, Lachlan Bryan, Rebecca Barnard and Kim Volkman faithfully performing the album as it was first heard back in ’86, it’s a night of raw storytelling and electric twang.

Chain

Oz-blues royalty Chain hit Memo to celebrate nearly six decades of gritty blues and rock-leaning jams. These legends have chart history and a legacy of classics like Black ’n’ Blue under their belt, making this an unmissable stop for lovers of timeless roots music. If you’ve ever wanted a night of harmonica wails, soulful riffs and deep groove, this is it.

Into The Mystic – The Music Of Van Morrison

Cruise through decades of Van Morrison magic with Joe Creighton and a stellar cast recreating mystical hits from Astral Weeks to Moondance. This isn’t a tribute, but a journey through soulful grooves and poetic lyricism, with guests Lindsay Field, Steve Wade and Brett Garsed helping out. From lush ballads to breakneck groove numbers, this show’s a proper musical adventure.
