Avenged Sevenfold Ready To Tour Australia

Since their last Australian tour in 2008, Avenged Sevenfold have gone through a lot. With the death of their drummer Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan (or The Reverend Tholomew Plague) the band had to reform, inviting Dream Theater’s former drummer Mike Portnoy to fill the gap. With him they continued to work on what would become their fifth studio album Nightmare

Nightmare, which aimed to document and deal with the The Rev’s passing, debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 and at #9 on our own ARIA album chart last year. Since then they have toured across the US and are on their way to Europe for a festival tour including headlining Rock Am Ring in Germany, the UK’s Download Festival and Graspop in Belgium.

Once they’ve wrapped up in Europe, Avenged Sevenfold will be visiing Australia for a week, headlining five shows in that time. The band will be joined by American metal act Sevendust, and not just for their matching names. Sevendust made appearances at this year’s Soundwave Festival as well as hosting a range of sideshows to present their latest album Cold Day Memory.
