Roots powerhouse Pierce Brothers will be getting the gallery up and about, appearing after a short talk in the Degas: A New Vision exhibition space by the University of Melbourne’s Professor Peter McPhee, who will discuss Degas’ troubled relationship with fellow painter Eduard Manet. French gypsy swing band La Mauvaise Réputation will also play 1930s Parisian hot jazz and classic French tunes to kick things off.
Closing the season comes iconic Australian band Augie March in a hotly anticipated performance. They’ll be supported by jazz fiends Gypsy Jam as NGV Curator of International Art Ted Gott shares his Degas expertise in the exhibition space.
