Hobart’s All Fires the Fire have updated Echo And The Bunnymen, keeping the gothic vocal melodrama but ramping up the BPM. Heartbeast is a little over insistent if you ask me, a weird combination of heavy charcoal eyeliner and banging glow stick techno, but seriously, what do I know? Never in a million years would I have predicted the return of the Melbourne Shuffle in a strange new guise. If All Fires The Fire sound like your thing, they’re playing The John Curtin on May 26.
