Exploring how video is used in Australian hip hop music and culture, the event provides a companion to Spectacle: The Music Video Exhibition, which is showing at ACMI until Sunday February 23. The event will be hosted by MC Yung Philly, a founding member of Massive Hip Hop Choir and a community development worked for The Push. It will also feature performances by local hip hop artists, including MC Ror, and guest speakers such as filmmakers Claudia Sangiorgo Dalimore (directed clips for Diafrix and Mantra) and Ez Eldin Deng (SubMedia), Lindsey Martin (Obese Records) and Joe Motley (UK rapper/producer).
In addition to the event, Movement: Clips from Australian Hip Hop Culture, will be broadcast throughout the long weekend on the outdoor screen in Federation Square.
