A Brooklyn-style block party is hitting Melbourne

unnamed4.jpg

Melbourne venues Section 8 and Ferdydurke are teaming up with Brooklyn Brewery to throw a block party this May.

Section 8’s outdoor space will be transformed into ‘The Brooklyn Zoo’ thanks to Cekis from New York art crew The Bushwick Collective, who’ll be painting a special live piece at the event. There’ll also be live music from local artists like SO.Crates and SADIVA, as well as a pop-up barbershop for anyone feeling like a spontaneous haircut on the day.

Upstairs, Ferdydurke will become the ‘Coney Island Disco Palace’, dishing up New York-style food and pouring an exclusive range of Brooklyn Beers. Sydney DJ Disco Delicious will be spinning tracks and there’ll be a hot dog eating contest if you’re up for the challenge too.

It’s free entry for the event, which means you’ll have more money to spend on important things (i.e. beer).
